Chemomics-2026

Chemomics - 5th edition - your mixed school “chemometrics and metabolomics” - March 31 - April 3, 2026

Metabolomics and chemometrics form two different communities with many common points.

This fourth edition, which took place in Montpellier (France), pursued the same objective as the previous ones, namely to improve one's level of understanding of the statistical methods used in chemometrics and metabolomics, to be able to apply them and to establish methodological bridges between these two communities. Discussions around methodological questions were encouraged in order to increase synergies between these two communities, and to initiate common areas of work that will continue beyond the school.

Thus, the "discovery", "discussion" and "participation of all" aspects were at the heart of this school, where a part was organized on the pedagogical principle of the barcamp, or non-conference, and workshops whose content is adapted to the expectations of the participants.

Three main families of applications were addressed: regressions, discriminations and multiblock analyses.

The practical part consisted of the application of chemometric methods to metabolomics data.

This school brought together 25 doctoral participants, post-doctoral students, researchers, engineers from public institutes and private companies.
