Chemomics-2026

Chemomics-2026 : Chemometrics and Metabolomics School

Clermont-Ferrand, March 31 – April 3, 2026

Chemomics - 5th edition - your mixed school “chemometrics and metabolomics” - Marsh 31 - April 3, 2026

The 6th edition of ChemOmics will take place on the INRAE Clermont-Ferrand campus (Les Cézeaux) from March 31 to April 3, 2026.
This advanced training school brings together researchers, engineers, and PhD students working in metabolomics and chemometrics, two complementary fields sharing many methodological foundations.

Untargeted metabolomics aims to comprehensively profile biological molecules to characterize phenotypes, discover biomarkers, or investigate physiological and environmental responses. Chemometrics applies statistical and mathematical tools to extract meaningful information from complex chemical datasets.
By bridging these domains, ChemOmics promotes integrated and multi-dimensional data analysis approaches, supporting biological interpretation and system-level understanding.

The goal of ChemOmics 2026 is to enhance participants’ methodological expertise and autonomy in selecting, applying, and interpreting chemometric methods tailored to real-world metabolomic data.
The program will combine lectures, hands-on workshops, and discussion sessions, with topics including:

  • Supervised and unsupervised multivariate methods
  • Analysis of multi-factor experimental designs
  • Multi-block data integration approaches

All practical sessions will use the ChemFlow platform, an instance of the GalaxyProject dedicated to chemometric and metabolomic data processing (https://chemflow.eu), and complementary resources available on https://www.chemproject.org.

Since 2019, ChemOmics has fostered synergies between chemometricians and metabolomic scientists, encouraging knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the co-development of innovative methods in analytical chemistry, agri-food, health, and environmental research.
